Choosing a trilliant diamond
A triangle that sparkles
Trilliants are triangular, usually with brilliant faceting, and are cut shallow, so they look large for their weight.
How to choose one
Look for even sides and good symmetry. Sides may be straight or gently curved; curved sides are common in centre stones.
Settings that suit it
Protect the three points with V-prongs or a bezel. Trilliants are also a classic choice as side stones beside a round, oval or cushion.
