Split shank: two paths that meet at the centre
In a split shank engagement ring, the band divides into two as it approaches the diamond, then frames it from both sides. Two lives, each whole, meeting at the one point they share.
The split gives the setting presence on the hand and room for more light. Choose plain metal or pavé on each strand, with a halo or without, around a round diamond or a fancy shape.
